Enactus

About

Established on: 1st August 2016

Enactus Sri Aurobindo College (SAC) is a student-led collective dedicated to creating sustainable, socially impactful solutions to real-world challenges. Grounded in the belief that entrepreneurial action drives social progress, the collective serves as a platform where innovation meets meaningful change.

Working in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Enactus SAC blends academic knowledge with on-ground engagement. Projects are built around inclusive models that address environmental issues, unemployment, and social inequality. Solutions are co-created with marginalised communities to ensure they are need-based, scalable, and sustainable.

Flagship Projects

Project Ankur

A waste-to-worth initiative that upcycles discarded coconut husks into eco-friendly products such as natural dishwashing scrubs, candles, decorative bowls, and planter pots. The project promotes sustainable living while enabling women artisans to engage in skill-based livelihood generation.

Project Haritah

A sustainability-driven venture that introduces bamboo-based lifestyle products, including bamboo straws and wind chimes, as alternatives to plastic. The initiative empowers rural communities through training, employment, and the promotion of responsible consumption.

Project Urvi

A circular economy project that transforms polythene waste into handcrafted bags, pouches, and utility items. Urvi focuses on women’s empowerment, revives traditional crocheting techniques, and upholds sustainability by promoting upcycling as a tool for social change.

Each project fosters empathy-driven innovation, encourages purpose-led leadership, and contributes to building inclusive ecosystems that aim for long-term, measurable impact.

North East Cell

The Northeast Cell of Sri Aurobindo college, established the society “Echoes of the Hills: The Northeast and Ladakh Students’ Association” under its aegis.

Brief Description

The Northeast and Ladakh Students’ Association, Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi, was founded in 2013 with a steadfast commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for students hailing from the North-eastern and Himalayan regions of India. Over the years, it has become a vital platform that not only provides cultural representation and community but also encourages leadership, academic engagement, and inter-regional solidarity.

From the academic year, 2025–26, the Cell will function under the title “Echoes of the Hills: The Northeast and Ladakh Students’ Association”—a name chosen to reflect the resonance of regional voices, cultures, and lived experiences from the most distant corners of the country. A renewed focus this year lies in proactively involving Ladakhi students, acknowledging their unique identity, and integrating their cultural contributions into the broader narrative of our community.

Mission

Echoes of the Hills: The Northeast and Ladakh Students’ Association of Sri Aurobindo College strives to be a unifying platform that brings together students from the culturally rich and diverse regions of Northeast India and Ladakh. The society is committed to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the unique traditions, languages, festivals, and lifestyles of these regions within the college environment.

At its core, the mission is to create a sense of belonging and pride among students from these areas, while also fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding across the larger student body. Echoes of the Hills envisions a campus where diversity is not only acknowledged but embraced — where differences in identity are seen as strengths that enrich the collective experience. Through cultural programs, awareness campaigns, and inclusive events, the society aims to contribute to a more empathetic, informed, and united student community.

Objectives
  • To provide support and representation for students from the Northeast and Ladakh.
  • To promote cultural awareness and appreciation through events, dialogues, and collaborations.
  • To create a safe, inclusive space for expression, engagement, and community building.
  • To encourage intercultural understanding and solidarity among the wider student body.
Focus Areas
  • Cultural Promotion: Showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, and art forms of the Northeast and Ladakh through festivals, exhibitions, and performances.
  • Community Engagement: Building strong networks among regional students while also encouraging meaningful interactions with peers from other backgrounds.
  • Identity and Awareness: Advocating for greater awareness of the social, historical, and cultural narratives of the regions within academic and social spaces.
  • Unity in Diversity: Upholding the idea of collective harmony by celebrating differences and fostering inclusivity across all student communities.
