The Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) was established by the University of Delhi in 1944 with the aim of providing higher education to women residing in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi who are unable to join regular college due to various personal, social, or economic reasons. From an initial enrollment of just three students, the Board has grown tremendously and today supports the education of more than 31,000 women.
To utilize existing infrastructure effectively, NCWEB classes are held either on Saturdays or Sundays, as well as during academic breaks of the University, at 26 affiliated colleges.
One such dedicated center is the Sri Aurobindo College Centre, which functions as an active teaching center under NCWEB. The center is committed to empowering women through education and providing them with a supportive academic environment. The courses offered at this center include:
Currently, more than 1,400 women students are enrolled at the Sri Aurobindo College Centre. Classes run from 8:30 AM to 4.00 PM on scheduled days. As classroom teaching is emphasized, no printed study material is provided. Students are encouraged to engage with faculty members for academic assistance and guidance.
Regular attendance is compulsory. A minimum of 67% attendance is required for eligibility to appear in the End-Term Examinations, which are conducted alongside regular students of the University of Delhi.
All essential updates regarding classes, examinations, and schedules are shared on the official website of Sri Aurobindo College NCWEB. Students are advised to visit the website regularly for the latest announcements.
