The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is India's largest uniformed youth organization, established to groom students into disciplined and patriotic citizens. As a voluntary, tri-services organization encompassing the Army, Navy, and Air Force, it provides students with basic military training, develops leadership qualities, and fosters comradeship, courage, and a spirit of selfless service. Administered by the Ministry of Defence, the NCC aims to create a pool of organized, motivated youth with leadership skills for all walks of life and to encourage young Indians to join the armed forces. Its core motto is 'Unity and Discipline'.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Society of Sri Aurobindo College, affiliated with the 4 Delhi Battalion NCC, is one of the most active, disciplined, and prestigious societies of the college. The college has Senior Division NCC (Army Wing) company with strength of 160 cadets for boys only. The organization plays a pivotal role in shaping students into responsible citizens, future leaders, and dedicated individuals committed to the service of the nation.
The NCC Society comprises a dedicated team of cadets who regularly participate in institutional training, parade drills, social service activities, and various state and national-level NCC camps such as CATC (Combined Annual Training Camp), AITSC (All India Thal Sainik Camp), SNIC, and Pre-RDC/RDC (Republic Day Camp). Many cadets have brought laurels to the college by representing the unit at Delhi Directorate selections and inter-college competitions.
The society believes in contributing beyond the uniform. Our cadets actively take part in cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns, plantation drives, blood donation camps, disaster relief activities, and commemorative events on national days like Independence Day, Republic Day, and Kargil Vijay Diwas. Collaborations with organizations like Vishalakshi Foundation, and civil authorities have amplified our outreach and social impact.
Alongside military training, the society also focuses on personality development, discipline, time management, and public speaking. Many cadets have gone on to join the Indian Armed Forces, CAPF, and civil services, making NCC a stepping stone to proud careers in service of the nation.
With a strong tradition of unity and leadership, the NCC of Sri Aurobindo College stands tall as a symbol of “Unity and Discipline”, shaping young minds into patriotic, confident, and service-oriented individuals.
The SAC Coy affiliated with 4 Delhi Battalion under Delhi Directorate is led by NCC Officer Mr. Avanish Yadav. Under his dynamic leadership, assisted by Permanent Instructors (PI Staff) and the senior rank panel, the NCC unit at Sri Aurobindo College actively conducts weekly training, parades, and camps. NCC Officer plays a pivotal role in mentoring cadets, coordinating with the Battalion, and preparing them for ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations. He inspires students to participate in Republic Day Camp, TSC, CATC, and other national-level events, while instilling discipline, leadership, patriotism, and social service values. The NCC at Sri Aurobindo College, under his guidance, continues to contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the NCC.

Participation in NCC camps held across India allows cadets to visit historical sites, industries, and social institutions, which broadens their knowledge and outlook.
Selected cadets get a chance to represent India abroad under the Youth Exchange Program (YEP).
Every course in the Indian Military Academy (IMA) has 32 reserved seats for cadets holding an NCC ‘C’ Certificate.
Graduates with 50% marks and a minimum of ‘B’ grade in the ‘C’ Certificate can apply for Short Service Commission (NCC Special Entry Scheme). They are exempted from the CDS written exam and appear directly for the SSB interview.
NCC ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate holders get preference in recruitment to the Indian Armed Forces and Para-military forces.
Many industries and corporate companies give priority in jobs to candidates with NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificates.
Both central and state governments provide preference to NCC certificate holders during job recruitment and selection.
The goal of offering NCC VAC papers is to recognize the contributions of NCC training in academics and to help cadets grow as disciplined, confident, and socially responsible citizens, perfectly aligned with the holistic, skill-based, and value-driven education model of the New Education Policy 2020.
The VAC courses are offered across various semesters:

An Official Song of the NCC titled "Kadam Mila Ke Chal" was adopted in 1963. This was, however, changed to the current NCC Song titled "Ham Sab Bhartiya Hain" in Oct 1982.
Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain,
Apni Manzil Ek Hai,
Ha Ha Ha Ek Hai, Ho Ho Ho Ek Hai,
Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain.
Kashmir Ki Dharti Rani Hai,
Sartaj Himalaya Hai,
Sadiyon Se Humne Isko Apne Khoon Se Pala Hai,
Desh Ki Raksha Ki Khatir Hum Shamshir Utha Lenge,
Hum Shamshir Utha Lenge,
Bikhre Bikhre Taare Hai Hum,
Lekin Jhilmil Ek Hai,
Ha Ha Ha Ek Hai, Ho Ho Ho Ek Hai,
Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain.
Mandir Gurudware Bhi Hain Yahan,
Aur Masjid Bhi Hai Yahan,
Girija Ka Hai Ghariyaal Kahin,
Mullah Ki Kahin Hai Azaan,
Ek Hi Apna Ram Hai,
Ek Hi Allah Taala Hai,
Ek Hi Allah Taala Hai,
Rang Birange Deepak Hain Hum,
Lekin Jagmag Ek Hai,
Ha Ha Ha Ek Hai, Ho Ho Ho Ek Hai,
Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain.
