Botany was introduced in Sri Aurobindo College in 1992 as a part of BSc. Life Sciences course. The department has produced a large number of eminent scientists, dedicated teachers and those who excelled in other Area(s)s.

The Department of Botany occupies the ground floor of the small Block which has been build recently. It has spacious two teaching laboratories equipped with all necessary instruments and computers.

Research

Department is presently running innovation project ( SAC 206) funded by Delhi University.

The Botanical Society

Society named SANJEEVANI was constituted in session 2013-14. The society in 2014 organised its first event as a botanical quiz 'The fungal nature'.
